The year was 1913 and "Coca-Cola sales passed the Six-and one-half million gallon mark! The Western "Coca-Cola" Bottling Company of Chicago, had just published a calendar featuring a new stylish Coca-Cola lady. In those days calendars were a popular form of advertising. Inspired by this calendar portrait, Barbie as the "Coca-Cola" lady, is caught in the midst of a well-deserved daydream. In the heat of a warm summer day, she refreshes herself with an ice cold bottle of "Coca-Cola."

In this time of petticoats and pastimes, Barbie perches on a swing in a summer garden on a quiet afternoon. She wears an elegant white, pleated dress adorned with faux pearl buttons and red satin ribbon. Her lace trimmed petticoat peeks out from beneath her skirt displaying white stockings and T-strap shoes.
Topped with white straw-cloth hat trimmed with perky red roses and a matching red bow, she is beautifully and undeniably romantic. Should the sun shine too brightly, Barbie is ready with her matching parasol adorned with red bows and featuring a bamboo-like handle.

Barbie holds her authentic bottle of "Coca-Cola with its diamond- shaped label and straw. This distinctive label allowed consumers to distinguish Coca-Cola from competitive products.

At her side is a doll-sized replica of a vintage 1913 Coca-Cola serving tray which was also a popular form of advertising.

Barbie is the most popular fashion doll in the history of the world and has been since its introduction in 1959. I first started working with Barbie in 1985 in Mattel's Samples Department. In 1988 I began writing toy fair scripts, videos, marketing skits, custom songs and other creative for Barbie at Mattel. My first email address was mrbarbie@aol.com and you can still reach me there.

This toy is part of my personal collection and has been archived by me, Joe Galliani, the creator of the Street Sharks, and President of Mr. Joe's Really Big Productions for over two decades in my home's attic.

The package and Barbie doll inside are in visually excellent condition with no aging, blemishes or wear. Photos are of this specific toy for sale. Please review carefully and thoroughly as all sales are final and no refunds will be issued.
